Mexican comedian/actor/writer Eugenio Derbez is finally being recognized by Hollywood with a star on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame on March 10. He's long been a huge star in his native Mexico with various successful shows, and his star keeps growing in Hollywood after his film, Instructions Not Included was a big hit here in the states. He's starred with Adam Sandler, Eva Mendes and most recently with Jennifer Garner in the upcoming Miracles from Heaven. Mexican actress Erika Hau stars as Carmen, one of the handful characters trying to get to the safe zone but as an undocumented immigrant she has to fight twice as hard. Mexican actor Kristyan Ferrer stars with Tim Roth in the Mexican film 600 MILES directed by Gabriel Ripstein. Ferrer (Buen Dia, Ramon, Sin Nombre), a festival film favorite, plays gun smuggler "Arnulfo" in 600 MILES, and he's telling CineMovie what the movie has to say about gun control. The animated comedy UN GALLO CON MUCHOS HUEVOS ("The Ballsy Chicken") from Mexican filmmakers and brothers, Gabriel & Rodolfo Riva Palacio Alatrist, marks their third film in a trilogy based on their Huevos Cartoons. However, their two other animated projects were too racy for American audiences, according to their star Omar Chaparro who voices a duck in UN GALLO CON MUCHOS HUEVOS. This film marks the first time one of their films has been distributed in the United States, and they are talking to CineMovie about the hardships of animating a 3D film in Mexico and keeping the humor more PG this time around.
