Disney and Lucasfilm released the first trailer and key art for the Disney+ series, Andor with Diego Luna reprising his role as Cassian Andor from ROGUE ONE. The first look was revealed at Thursday morning’s Star Wars Celebration with Luna and the filmmakers on stage. Take a look at the teaser trailer which takes viwers to different sort of galaxy and culture.
At the Thursday morning panel, producer and showrunner Tony Gilroy revealed that 12 episodes will premiere on August 31 with an additional 12 on order. Before they unveiled the new trailer to the audience, they revealed Adria Arjuna and Stellan Skarsgard were part of the cast. The two actors appeared in the first look. Actress Genevieve O’Reilly who reprises her role as Mon Mothma was also on stage during Star Wars Celebration.
The Andor series will focus on Cassian Andor’s backstory in becoming part of the rebellion against the Empire. His journey will take STAR WARS fans to different locals not seen in prior Star Wars franchises as evident in the new trailer.
The “Andor” series will explore a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It’s an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.
Diego Luna returns as Cassian Andor and is joined by cast members Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough and Kyle Soller. The executive producers are Kathleen Kennedy, Sanne Wohlenberg, Diego Luna and Michelle Rejwan. Tony Gilroy is the creator and showrunner.
