Tim Burton's EDWARD SCISSORHANDS (1990) is getting a sequel of sorts for a Super Bowl commercial for Cadillac's new electric vehicle, Lyriq with Winona Ryder reprising her role as mom to Timothée Chalamet playing Johnny Depp's son, Edgar Scissorhands. In the one minute and thirty second spot, Edgar Scissorhands faces the same challenges as the senior version with mishaps in his everyday teen life. Ryder is a concerned mom for the boy who takes public transportation with some difficulties. She gifts Edgar with Cadillac's first electric car with self-mode.
It's the sequel we didn't know we needed. Let's just hope Scissorhands Junior doesn't try filling the tires with air.
