Hoppers hopped straight to the top of the domestic box office this weekend, debuting with an impressive $46 million from roughly 4,000 theaters. The new release from Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures averaged a strong $11,500 per theater, signaling solid audience turnout and positioning the film as the weekend’s clear winner.
The film’s strong opening pushed last week’s champion, Scream 7, into second place. The horror sequel earned $17.3 million, though it experienced a steep 72.8% drop in its second weekend. Even with the decline, the latest installment in the long-running franchise has already reached $93.3 million domestically.
One of the weekend’s other notable debuts came from The Bride!, which opened in third place with $7.26 million across more than 3,300 theaters. Meanwhile, holdovers such as GOAT and Wuthering Heights rounded out the top five, continuing to add to their growing domestic totals.
Further down the chart, returning titles like Crime 101, Send Help, and I Can Only Imagine 2 continued their theatrical runs, while the anime hit Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle re-entered the top ten in its 26th weekend.
With a powerful debut and limited direct competition, Hoppers looks poised to maintain momentum heading into next weekend as audiences continue to turn out for Disney’s latest crowd-pleaser.
