Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Zootopia 2 has officially crossed the $1 billion mark worldwide, doing so in just 17 days — the fastest climb to the milestone for any animated MPA release and any PG-rated film. The sequel has earned $986.1 million globally to date, with $232.7 million domestically and a massive $753.4 million internationally.
The film becomes only the second MPA release of 2025 to hit $1 billion, following Disney’s Lilo & Stitch, and marks a major moment for the studio as its first-ever back-to-back billion-dollar releases after last year’s Moana 2. Since 2013, Walt Disney Animation Studios has now boasted five billion-dollar hits: Frozen, Frozen 2, Moana 2, Zootopia, and Zootopia 2.

Internationally, the film has been a phenomenon in China, where it delivered the highest animated opening ever for a non-local title and quickly became the highest-grossing non-local animated film of all time. It now ranks as the No. 2 MPA release ever in the country, trailing only Avengers: Endgame.
The box office success has also fueled renewed interest in the franchise on Disney+, with Zootopia and Zootopia+ surpassing 725 million hours viewed globally.
